The following fandoms require more information; please respond in the comments:
- Secrets and Scrabble Series - Josh Lanyon: From the author's website, this is labelled as a mystery and not as a romance - does it fit the romance novel criteria listed below? (also, if it does, it needs to be disambiguated)
- Impromptu (1991)
The criteria for the exchange is the following:
- Movies: Romantic comedies; lighthearted comedic films with a focus on a romantic relationship with a happily ever after or happy-for-now ending. Examples: You've Got Mail, Isn't It Romantic?, But I'm A Cheerleader!
- Novels: Romance novels. These can fall into several subcategories (paranormal, young adult, historical, contemporary, etc.) but generally follow the same beats and have a close focus on a romantic relationship; as with romantic comedies, these end with a happily ever after or a happy-for-now. Examples: Julia Quinn novels, Red White & Royal Blue, Bride by Ali Hazelwood
- Other media: accepted on a case by case basis, but must have a happily ever after or happy-for-now for a primary couple (in the case of visual novels and video games, all endings should fit this criteria)

Date: 2024-11-30 07:48 pm (UTC)Secrets and Scrabble is both a cozy-mystery and closed-door romance series. The books take place on a very small island where everyone knows everyone else's business and the whole town is rooting for Ellery and Jack to get together; their romance is complicated by the fact that Jack is the police chief and Ellery keeps being drawn into the crimes (as a suspect, as an amateur sleuth trying to clear his name). They're engaged by book 7 and clearly set for their HEA.
I understand the reasons some of my fandoms were rejected, but cannot figure out why Ground Floor was. Brody and Jenny hook up in the first ep and the rest of the series focuses on their trying to figure out how to balance their relationship with the rest of their lives (and they get engaged in the final ep). It is a rom-com sitcom, even more focused on romance than Miranda. Thanks in advance for maybe reconsidering!

Date: 2024-12-01 05:27 pm (UTC)Ground Floor was not approved because the series ends on a cliffhanger and it really isn't a HEA or HFN. But if you strongly disagree, I can see if I can find it on streaming to rewatch and reconsider.

Date: 2024-12-02 12:46 am (UTC)I do disagree that GF ends on a cliffhanger, as they get engaged in the last ep, but you definitely don't need extra work right now, so it's fine to leave it rejected and maybe we can revisit in a future exchange?
